Basic event concept

Drag Racing event open to any General Motors car that was ORIGINALLY equipped with a 4 or 6 cylinder production engine, except those that also had a V8 option. This rule will be read as to exclude ANY truck or SUV.
The only exceptions to this rule will be:
-2008-2009 Pontiac G8
-2005-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix
-All Holden Commodores with original VIN tag
-Any car that ORIGINALLY had a 4 or 6 cylinder production engine, but has had a V8 engine swapped in to replace the original engine
-Any race car manufactured to look like a General Motors vehicle, that is powered by a 4 or 6 cylinder engine that is directly based off a General Motors 4 or 6 cylinder production engine, will be allowed in.

Hoping to have at least 5 classes, including AT LEAST 1 heads-up class.

Cash prizes and trophies for races

Special awards for like "Fastest car driven to event", "Fastest xxxx", "Best Appearing"

This is the basic idea we have started with and it will continue to grow from here.

The guidelines as written so far...

GM Event Guidelines

1. Open to any General Motors car that was ORIGINALLY equipped with a 4 or 6 cylinder production engine, except those that also had a V8 option. This rule will be read as to exclude ANY truck or SUV.
The only exceptions to this rule will be:
2008-2009 Pontiac G8 GXP
2005-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP
All Holden Commodores with original VIN tag
Any car that ORIGINALLY had a 4 or 6 cylinder production engine, but has had a V8 engine swapped in to replace the original engine
Any race car manufactured to look like a General Motors vehicle, that is powered by a 4 or 6 cylinder engine that is directly based off a General Motors 4 or 6 cylinder production engine, will be allowed in.

2. Refunds of entry fees will not be given except in extreme circumstances.
A few of these circumstances are listed below:
Extreme emergency situation, IE: death or birth in family, major medical event
Advance notice of 7 days is given if you are prepaid for event
Shorter notice may result in a prorated refund
The track or event host offers Vision Promotions a refund of at least the amount you paid to enter, IE a rained-out event.
A rain-out may result in a rain check situation, depending on day of event. Please be sure to listen for announcements. If an event is rain-checked, no refunds will be offered.

3. All cars MUST pass a technical/safety inspection for the speed and time they expect to run, as given by track officials to their requirements, whether IHRA or NHRA based.
If you fail the inspection for your desired class, you will be offered the chance to run a slower class that your car is eligible for.
These rules are in place to protect yourself and others and are not negotiable! It is YOUR responsibility to ensure your car is built to the proper requirements.

4. All vehicles will only be allowed to enter into 1 class per event. This does not include the special award classes we will have at certain events, as Vision Promotions employees will classify you for those awards.

5. Once the car has made it's first COMPETITION pass there will be no driver changes allowed, except in EXTREME circumstances.

6. Anyone found surpassing their “tech level,” either by running too fast or too quick, will be placed on the 3 strikes rule.
You will receive 2 warnings on your first 2 passes/runs about your violation, and on the 3rd pass/run you will be disqualified. The pass/run you commit the violation willed be deemed as your first strike and you will be warned immediately afterward.
If your 3rd pass/run would be the final round of a class or competition, you will be disqualified if you break the rule again. You will be declared the loser of that pass/run and will be awarded 2nd place.
If violation is deemed severe in nature or deemed as endangering others, by Vision Promotions employees and/or track officials, you will be disqualified immediately and will not be eligible for any awards.

7. The decisions of track officials and/or designated event officials should be treated as final, but are open to objection in certain circumstances. Any objections to their decisions MUST BE BROUGHT TO A VISION PROMOTIONS EMPLOYEE IMMEDIATELY! The decision rendered by the Vision Promotions employee(s) will be deemed as final and will not be subject to objections.

8. Any objections to the classification of a car or driver is entered into must be made, in person, to a Vision Promotions employee or other designated race official, not to a member of the track staff.
Each party will have a chance to argue it's case and present it's evidence to support said objection.
Each objection will be considered on it's own merits and the decision made will be final.
Any objection deemed to be frivolous will be rejected without consideration.
All objections, and payments, for said objections will be handled as outlined in the latest version of the NHRA rulebook.
Think carefully before you make an objection, it may end up costing you more cash than it is worth.

9. All track rules MUST be followed. Track rules will ALWAYS supersede Vision Promotions rules, except in very rare cases.

10. Any behavior deemed as dangerous or reckless by track officials or Vision Promotions employees will result in a warning about said behavior. If you are asked to stop the same behavior a second time you will be disqualified from the current event and asked to leave without refund. The intention of this rule is to quickly end any problems and show that we respect the property we are being allowed to use, not steal your money.

11. Any car entered into a “street tire only” class will be required to have tires with at least a 200 treadwear rating, AS LISTED BY THE TIRE MANUFACTURE. Be prepared to have evidence of legality in case of protest. If you cannot prove the legality of your tires, they will be deemed as illegal.
If the protest is made BEFORE competition passes/runs begin, you will be provided the chance to change tires or class.
If the protest is made AFTER competition passes/runs begin, it will be deemed that you made a distinct effort to cheat and you will be disqualified from the current event with no refund issued.

12. It is the responsibility of the competitor to listen for your group/class to be called. Vision Promotions will try and give a tentative schedule of events, but that will be subject to change at any time. Any competitor not in the correct location when the first race of his/her classes round starts will be declared as broken and awarded the lowest finishing place allowed for that round. Vision Promotions will notify you of radio stations that will be broadcasting the public address system at the track, but not all locations have this option.

13. All bracket class drivers will be given 2 practice passes/runs.
After these two passes/runs you will be expected to have a dial-in time chosen.
This time must be on your windows, per track requirements that we will notify you of, before you enter, or move around, the water box.
By crossing this imaginary line you are agreeing that the posted dial-in is acceptable to you. If the time posted is not correct, DO NOT ADVANCE UNTIL IT IS!

14. Heads-up classes will be guaranteed 2 qualifying passes/runs, but may get more if deemed necessary due to weather or track conditions. If you miss a pass/run you will not be given a chance to make it up. Be where you are supposed to be when your class is running.

15. Anything not strictly forbidden by these rules, track rules and/or any rulebook governing the event, shall be deemed as illegal until brought to the attention of an official and a decision can be rendered on legality.
